Teradyne is a leading supplier of Automatic Test
Equipment and interconnection systems. In the fall of
2003 Teradyne donated a J750 Tester. As part of a
partnership between Iowa State University and Teradyne. As
part of this partnership Teradyne wanted statistics
on who was using the tester, what courses the tester was
being used for and how many hours the tester had been used.
I was the one that was given the task of writing a program that would log
the usage of this tester. To complete this task I
wrote a simple Visual Basic program that would start on
log on and automatically collect the users username and
make a time stamp. The program would also ask the user
some additional information such as which class they
where using the tester for. The program would then
keep tack of the duration of the section and log it to a
database.
